Broad rally (>60% above 50MA)
When breadth is broad, dips get bought. Trend-following works. Add risk on pullbacks.
Narrow rally (mega-cap only)
SPY/QQQ up but %>50MA <40% = leadership only in a few names. Vulnerable. Cut size, watch for rotation or correction.
Negative divergence (price up, breadth down)
Classic warning. New SPY highs without new A/D highs = late-cycle. Reduce, hedge, wait for confirmation either way.
